How to Prepare
Thawing:
- Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, or place vacuum-sealed bag under cold running water for 20–30 minutes.
- Pat dry before cooking for best results.
Steamed (Recommended — Cantonese Style):
- Score the fish on both sides and place on a heatproof plate with sliced ginger.
- Steam over high heat for 10–12 minutes until flesh is opaque and flakes easily.
- Discard excess liquid, top with julienned ginger and green onion.
- Pour hot oil over the fish, then drizzle with light soy sauce and sesame oil to finish.
Pan Fried:
- Season fish with salt and white pepper.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy on the outside, cooked through inside.
Grilled / Baked:
