Grilling (recommended): Thaw, score the body in a crosshatch pattern, brush with olive oil, garlic, and chili, and grill over high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly charred and caramelized — the firmer flesh of Arrow Squid holds up beautifully on the grill, delivering a bold, smoky, deeply satisfying result.
Stir-frying: Score, blanch briefly in boiling water for 30 seconds until it curls, then stir-fry with garlic, ginger, XO sauce or black bean sauce over high heat for 2–3 minutes — the classic Cantonese stir-fried squid (爆炒魷魚) with a bold, satisfying meaty bite.
Deep-frying / Calamari: Slice into rings, coat in seasoned flour or a light tempura batter, and deep-fry at 180°C for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy — the firmer Arrow Squid flesh creates an exceptionally satisfying, meaty calamari.
